Lithuanian Government Says It Has No Information About Possible Relocation of Tsikhanouskaya’s Office

The Lithuanian government has no official information about a possible relocation of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya from Vilnius, ELTA reported.

“There have been various discussions, but the government has not received any clear statement or signal that would be officially communicated,” said Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruģienė.

“For our part, we have provided Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her office with comprehensive support and assistance. We ensured round-the-clock security, and beyond that it is up to her to decide what to choose,” Ruģienė said.

The comment comes after reports emerged yesterday that Tsikhanouskaya’s Office was allegedly preparing to leave Lithuania. Tsikhanouskaya’s adviser Franak Viacorka said that the Office continues to operate normally and that the security detail for the democratic leader had been restored.

In October this year, Lithuania decided to lower the level of Tsikhanouskaya’s protection. Responsibility for her security was transferred to the police from the State Security Department’s VIP Protection Service.
