Lithuanian Defense Minister: Downed Drone Was Carrying Explosives

The drone shot down in Lithuania was carrying an explosive device. It was neutralized by bomb disposal experts, Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas said.

“Operation Shield is complete. According to the final data, an explosive device was found. Bomb disposal experts neutralized it. Specialists will continue to examine and analyze the drone,” Kaunas wrote on Facebook.

The drone entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus during the night of September 14-15. It was shot down near Kaunas. Belarus did not notify the Lithuanian side about the drone. Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry plans to send Belarus a protest note.
