The head of Lukashenka’s Administration, Dzmitry Kruty, is visiting China on an official trip at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The visit began in the city of Xi’an (Shaanxi Province), the largest transport and logistics hub in northwestern China and a key hub of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Cargo flows along the China–Europe–China route, which passes through Belarus, are formed there, and a large volume of bilateral freight is also processed.
During talks with the management of the Chinese “dry port”, Kruty discussed prospects for increasing freight traffic in bilateral and transit routes, relying on the capabilities of the Belarusian Railway as well as the potential of the China–Belarus Industrial Park “Great Stone”.
In addition, a ceremony was held to sign a bilateral document between JSC “Eurasian Railway Gateway” and LLC “Xi’an International Port Group”, providing for the development of the “GreatPort” railway container terminal being built in the park.
Dzmitry Kruty also met with the Communist Party secretary of Shaanxi Province, Zhao Yide. Since 2021, the province has been a sister region of the Mahilyow Region.
“The parties noted the high pace of development of humanitarian cooperation: in 2018, a Belarus Studies Centre was established at Xi’an International Studies University, and a programme for studying the Belarusian language and culture was introduced”, BelTA reported.
Dzmitry Kruty also visited the Museum of the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang in Xi’an.
