Nadzeya Katkavets said after Tuesday’s appointments by Aliaksandr Lukashenka that she was pleased to receive her new post.
“It has been just over two years since I worked at the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation. During that time, I defended my PhD dissertation in economics. I accepted the offer of a new position with great pleasure. The president has set serious tasks. We all understand perfectly well that the Mahiliou region has always been at the centre of attention,” she said, according to BelTA.
According to Katkavets, Lukashenka has always paid particularly close attention to the Mahiliou region.
“There are large workforces there, and the work of the presidential aide for the region is, first and foremost, about people and personnel. It is about ensuring that people can work with peace of mind and feel confident about their future,” she said.
Nadzeya Katkavets previously served as first deputy agriculture and food minister, then as deputy head of Lukashenka’s Presidential Property Management Directorate, before joining the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation as deputy chair of its board of directors. Born in 1960, she also worked as chief economist at the Haradzets state farm in the Shklou district, which was headed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
