A truck carrying 20 tonnes of Belarusian pork fat has been detained in Russia’s Smolensk region.
The driver, a Belarusian citizen, presented Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors with documents declaring the cargo as frozen beetroot, potatoes and carrots. An inspection revealed that the pallets of vegetables served only as cover, while the main cargo consisted of pork fat.
The truck was placed in temporary storage pending the completion of the inspection, Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
