Polish President Karol Nawrocki has granted Polish citizenship to 62 foreigners since taking office. According to data obtained by Gazeta.pl, two of them are citizens of Belarus.
As of Aug. 13, citizens of 13 countries had been granted Polish citizenship. Ukrainian citizens accounted for the largest group, followed by citizens of Israel and Vietnam.

At the same time, Nawrocki officially denied Polish citizenship to 64 people.
This concerns citizenship granted directly by the president under a special discretionary procedure. Under the standard procedure, Polish citizenship is granted by a provincial governor when statutory requirements are met.
For comparison, more than 19,000 foreigners obtained Polish citizenship through various procedures in 2025. About 10,000 of them were Ukrainian citizens, while approximately 6,500 were citizens of Belarus.
According to the outlet, Nawrocki grants citizenship significantly less frequently than his predecessors. During Andrzej Duda’s 10-year presidency, Polish citizenship was granted to nearly 20,500 people, or more than 2,000 people per year on average. Under Bronisław Komorowski, about 12,700 foreigners obtained citizenship over five years.
Nawrocki has also approved the renunciation of Polish citizenship for 322 people. In another 45 cases, the president refused to grant such approval.
