The Council of Ministers has adopted Resolution No. 391 of Aug. 3, formalizing the decision to liquidate the National Centre for Contemporary Arts of the Republic of Belarus, a state cultural institution. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The Culture Ministry has been instructed to transfer the budget funds allocated for financing the center to the Belarusian State Academy of Music (44,316 Belarusian rubles) and the National Art Museum (45,771 Belarusian rubles). The ministry must also complete the remaining measures related to the liquidation of the center by Nov. 30.

Reform.news reported as early as April that the center was due to be liquidated. At the time, the center announced that it would hold the last Night of Museums event in its history. It was reported that the center’s collections and its venue on Yakub Kolas Street would be transferred to the National Art Museum, while its premises on Nekrasau Street would be handed over to the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

The same resolution also provides for the merger of the Republican Centre for Olympic Training in Rhythmic Gymnastics into the Republican Centre for Olympic Training in Gymnastics.
