The Council of Ministers has approved the “Belarus Intellectual” state program for 2026–2030. The program concerns the education system.
“The goal is to improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic education that meets current labor market demands and the needs of the national economy, as the basis for the successful development of the individual, society, and the state,” the Council of Ministers’ press service said.
The state program consists of three subprograms:
- “Kindergarten and School — Territory of Success”;
- “Children and Youth — the Future of Belarus”;
- “Professional Personnel.”
Funding for the state program will amount to 6.4 billion rubles over five years, including 2.3 billion rubles from the republican budget, 3.9 billion rubles from local budgets, and 43.5 million rubles from own funds.
The program sets the following target indicators:
- an increase to 50% in the share of graduates of the current academic year’s ninth grades who continue education at the levels of vocational and secondary specialized education;
- a doubling of the share of children aged 6 to 18 mastering the content of supplementary education programs for children and youth with a technical focus, reaching 25% by 2030;
- the creation of training workshops (sites, production units) based at enterprises and organizations in the real sector of the economy and the social sphere for the practical training of college students;
- an increase to 45% in the share of faculty members holding an academic degree or academic title in the total number of teaching staff.
