Belarus will open an embassy in Oman. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn.
According to the government press service, the opening of the embassy will make it possible to increase the effectiveness of efforts to develop political, trade, economic, and investment ties, to practically explore opportunities for industrial cooperation, and to jointly enter new markets.
The government also expects that a permanent diplomatic presence in Oman will strengthen Minsk’s positions in this direction and help identify new access routes to African countries and Yemen.
Currently, Belarus’s ambassador to Egypt, Yauheni Sabaleuski, is also accredited to Oman on a non-resident basis. On February 10, he presented his credentials to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
In December 2025, Alyaksandr Lukashenka visited Oman together with his sons Viktor and Mikalai. Following the visit, he announced plans to establish a joint investment fund, build a new pulp and paper mill in Belarus, and create a logistics hub and a Belarusian resort in Oman.
