German Troops Take Part in Building Poland’s Eastern Shield

German troops are taking part in the implementation of Poland’s Eastern Shield project, which is aimed at strengthening the country’s borders with Russia and Belarus. The project includes installing border barriers, upgrading roads and creating storage sites for counter-mobility equipment in border regions.

Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz published photographs showing Polish and German troops working together on the border with Russia.

“The value of alliances is measured by joint action. The Eastern Shield is the best example of this.

Polish and German soldiers, working side by side, are strengthening border defence infrastructure and deterrence capabilities on NATO’s eastern flank.”, he wrote.

According to him, this is only the beginning. Preparations are underway to involve French troops, while US military personnel will join the project in September.
