Gazprom Discusses Prospects for Supplies from Belarusian Enterprises

A delegation from Gazprom PJSC, led by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Vitaliy Markelov, is on a visit to Belarus. Members of the delegation visited Minsk and Zhlobin and held a meeting with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankevich, the Belarusian government’s press service reported.

Gazprom representatives familiarised themselves with the capacities of BELAZ in Zhodzina, showing particular interest in the possibility of producing quarry machinery, including equipment powered by liquefied natural gas. The delegation also visited MAZ, where it was presented with the current range of gas-powered vehicles and the company’s prospective developments.

At the meeting attended by Karankevich, Markelov and heads of Belarusian enterprises, a wide range of issues related to industrial cooperation was discussed.

“Our cooperation in recent years, following the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, is already yielding results. The main market for Belarusian equipment powered by gas fuel is the Russian Federation. In this regard, the development of cooperation with Gazprom PJSC is a strategic area of interaction both for Belarusian enterprises and for the Republic of Belarus as a whole,” Karankevich said.

The meeting also discussed prospects for supplying Belarusian products for the needs of Gazprom’s subsidiaries. This included electrical equipment from METZ named after V.I. Kozlov, specialised road construction machinery from the AMKODOR holding, gas-powered excavator-graders from the SVYATOVIT joint venture, as well as optoelectronic systems from Peleng.

“Today, Belarusian enterprises are involved in Gazprom projects not only in the segment of gas-powered vehicles, but also in specialised mechanical engineering and instrument-making,” Markelov noted.

Preparations for the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2026 were also discussed. Belarusian enterprises expressed readiness to take an active part in the forum’s exhibition and business programmes.
