A gas-air mixture flash occurred in a garage cooperative on Hryshyna Street in Mahilyow. According to preliminary information from the Emergency Situations Ministry, the garage owner removed gas-cylinder equipment from a vehicle and placed it in an inspection pit before beginning welding work, which caused the flash.
The garage owner’s and his wife’s clothes caught fire, and a neighboring garage cooperative member was also injured. The couple managed to extinguish the fire themselves. All three victims were hospitalized. Partitions between adjacent garages were destroyed, and two vehicles were damaged.
Rescuers eliminated the consequences of the incident and stabilized the building structures. Three units of equipment were deployed at the scene.
