Fourteen Trucks Return To Lithuania From Belarus

On March 24, 14 trucks returned to Lithuania from Belarus.

“Eight arrived via the Medininkai checkpoint, and six via Šalčininkai,” Giedrius Mišutis, adviser to the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service, told ELTA.

The State Customs Committee of Belarus said it had sent a proposal to Lithuanian customs the previous day to increase the flow of trucks across the border.

It should be recalled that it was announced yesterday that carriers could retrieve their vehicles from special parking areas after paying a parking fee. Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in November last year that the fee would be 120 euros per day. However, Belarusian customs stated yesterday that the tariff had been reduced several times, though the exact amount was not disclosed. According to Belarusian customs, more than 1,900 vehicles with Lithuanian registration belonging to Lithuanian and Polish carriers were located in the country.
