A foreign national who had been expelled from Belarus and banned from entering the country for six months returned before the ban expired, the Minsk prosecutor’s office reported.
In September 2025, a decision was issued to deport the 39-year-old foreigner and prohibit his entry into Belarus for six months. He left the country by plane.
In early January 2026, the man returned to Belarus to visit an acquaintance. He stayed in Minsk and the Minsk region until his presence was discovered by law enforcement authorities.
A criminal case has been opened against him for intentionally staying in Belarus before the expiration of the entry ban (Article 371-2 of the Criminal Code). The article предусматривает a fine or imprisonment for up to one year.
