The Pershamaiski District Court of Vitsyebsk found a foreign citizen guilty of organising illegal migration, forging documents and using forged documents (Part 1 of Article 371-1 and Part 1 of Article 380).
According to the prosecutor’s office, the 29-year-old man from South Asia, acting as part of a criminal group by prior conspiracy, actively assisted four citizens of his home country in illegally entering and staying in Belarus between February and June 2025. According to the prosecution, he prepared forged applications for visas, personally met the arrivals at Minsk airport, transported them to Vitsyebsk, and booked hotels and hostels for them.
“In addition, from February to September 2025, he accepted an offer from an unidentified member of the criminal group to produce a fake stamp, which was required for falsifying applications for Belarusian visas.
Notably, the fake stamp was produced in his home country and delivered to Belarus by courier, another migrant arriving in the country. Using the fake stamp, the accused prepared another 14 fictitious applications for his compatriots, but he was unable to complete his intent due to circumstances beyond his control,” the prosecutor’s office said.
During a search, officers seized the fake stamp, 59 completed visa applications, guarantee letters for the stay of foreign nationals in the country, numerous photographs of foreign citizens’ passports, as well as correspondence with members of the criminal group discussing in detail routes for illegally crossing the border with neighbouring Schengen Area states.
In court, the man admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to one year and three months in prison and fined 200 base units (9,000 Belarusian roubles).
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed.
