Five Belarusian Banks Introduce Fees for Accepting Cash Russian Rubles From Non-Residents

Several banks in Belarus are introducing fees for accepting cash Russian rubles from non-resident clients when funds are credited to accounts.

The banks that have announced the new fees are MTBank, BNB Bank, Technobank, Alfa Bank and Sber Bank.

MTBank has introduced a 5% fee for cash deposits in Russian rubles to current accounts (without a bank payment card) opened in the name of non-residents of Belarus. The new rule takes effect on June 19 for accounts opened on or after June 19, 2026, and on July 20 for accounts opened before June 18, 2026.

Technobank has introduced a 2% fee for accepting Russian rubles through cash desks for crediting to non-residents’ current accounts. The fee will apply from July 20 for existing accounts and from June 19 for newly opened accounts.

BNB Bank will charge a 5% fee. It will take effect on July 18 for accounts opened before June 20 and on June 20 for newly opened accounts.

Alfa Bank has set a 5% fee starting from July 14. Exceptions apply to clients served under the bank’s payroll projects, as well as to cash Russian-ruble deposits transferred to a deposit account opened with the bank within the same business day.

Sber Bank has announced a 5% fee. It will apply from June 24 for accounts opened on or after that date and from July 20 for accounts opened before June 23.
