A Lenin monument in Vitsyebsk did not survive a thunderstorm. A falling tree knocked a bust of Lenin, mounted on a pedestal, to the ground.
There was other damage in the city. Fallen trees, damaged tents and umbrellas at outdoor cafes could be seen on the streets.
