The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has sent EAEU member states drafts of two agreements. They concern the mutual recognition of academic titles and the protection of intellectual property rights on the internet. Both documents must undergo the domestic procedures required for their signing.
According to the EEC press service, the draft agreement in the field of intellectual property provides for the application by member states of measures to restrict access to illegal content through court procedures. It also establishes an obligation for owners of internet resources to restrict access to such content on the basis of a court decision. The document provides for the creation of a register to record information resources to which access is restricted.
The draft agreement on the mutual recognition of documents confirming academic titles предусматривает their mutual recognition in the context of labour migration. After the agreement enters into force, a researcher or lecturer moving to another member state of the union will be able to carry out professional activities in accordance with their awarded title without undergoing additional procedures.
