Lithuanian border guards intercepted another drone carrying 1,000 packs of cigarettes from Belarus. The incident occurred on the night of October 13-14 in the so-called Dieveniškės Loop, an area of Lithuanian territory surrounded by Belarus on three sides, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported.

Lithuanian border guards spotted the drone carrying the cargo near the village of Dailidžiai in Šalčininkai District. It was flying from the Belarusian border.

VSAT officers used anti-drone equipment, and on the morning of October 14 they found the crashed drone and two packages. The packages contained 1,000 packs of NZ Gold and Minsk Super Slims cigarettes bearing Belarusian excise stamps. The value of the contraband is estimated at €5,520.
