According to Flagstok, at least five drones entered the Homiel Region between October 13 and 15.
Residents of border settlements regularly hear explosions that, they say, shake not only the windows but also the walls, the report says.
According to the publication, on the evening of October 13, a jet-powered drone flew through a protrusion of the Brahin District along a route used previously. Another drone followed a similar trajectory on the night of October 15.
At around 04:07 on October 15, the Ukrainian Telegram channel Rynda Monitors reported a jet-powered drone that had arrived from the Bryansk Region of Russia and passed the southern outskirts of Homiel towards the village of Rudnia Marymonava. The drone’s subsequent fate remains unknown.
About half an hour later, another jet-powered drone crossed the border near Liubech, flew over the Homiel Region and returned to Ukraine towards the Prypiat River. During the day on October 15, another attack drone from Belarus flew along the border of the Zhytomyr Region.
“Meanwhile, Russian drones continue to move along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border every day, using it as cover and probably ‘latching on’ to signals from Belarusian mobile network operator stations,” the authors write.
For example, over the 24 hours of October 14, the Ukrainian Air Force reported four times that groups of jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles and individual drones had flown over northern Chernihiv Region along the border with Belarus. Passing the Dobrush, Homiel, Loieu and Brahin districts, the drones then head either towards the Kyiv Region or the Zhytomyr Region. During the day on October 15, a group of jet-powered UAVs followed the same route four more times. The latest instance was at around 15:47, when the drones were heading towards the Kyiv Region.
Residents of the Homiel border area regularly hear explosions. According to the publication, these may be linked to attempts by Ukrainian forces to shoot down drones over neighbouring territory.
“Throughout the day, we constantly hear something going ‘boom’, and several times in recent days the explosions have been so powerful that not only the windows but also the walls shook violently,” a resident of one of the border settlements told the publication.
