Another drone carrying Belarusian cigarettes was intercepted in Lithuania’s Šalčininkai district.
Lithuanian border patrol officers spotted the drone on Sunday evening. It was intercepted using anti-drone equipment. The drone crashed 500 meters from the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, the Lithuanian Border Guard Service reported.
A package containing 200 packs of Minsk Superslims cigarettes and a GPS tracker was found at the crash site. The cigarettes were valued at €1,102. Administrative proceedings have been launched.
This year, Lithuanian border guards have already intercepted 59 smuggling drones that entered the country from Belarus.
