Defence Ministry Checks Readiness of Western Operational Command

As part of its own inspection, the Ministry of Defence today is placing the headquarters and a number of units and military formations of the Western Operational Command on combat readiness.

According to the ministry’s press service, the delivery of mobilisation resources to the inspected military formations is envisaged.

“The inspection will make it possible to assess the level of combat and mobilisation readiness, the ability of commanders to control subordinate military units, and the condition of weapons, military and special equipment.

During the inspection, reservists will be able to restore their knowledge and skills. They will undergo training in combat subjects, including firearms and medical training,” the statement said.

During the inspection, attention will also be paid to increasing the survivability of units under conditions involving sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a simulated adversary and unmanned aerial vehicles.

It should be recalled that two readiness inspections are being conducted simultaneously in the Belarusian army. One was initiated by the Ministry of Defence, while the second was ordered personally by Alyaksandr Lukashenka, with orders to raise readiness issued bypassing the ministry.
