Cyber Partisans May Be Declared an “Extremist Organization” in Russia

The Belarusian hacktivist group Cyber Partisans is set to be designated an “extremist organization” in Russia. The corresponding lawsuit will be considered by Russia’s Supreme Court.

“The Supreme Court of Russia has accepted for consideration as a court of first instance an administrative claim seeking recognition of the hacker groups Cyberpartizans BY (‘Cyber-Partisans’, Cyberpartizans) and Silent Crow (‘Silent Raven’) as extremist organizations and a ban on their activities within our country. The case will be heard in a closed court session,” the press service of the Russian Supreme Court said.

“Here comes recognition of the effectiveness of our work from the Russian Z-dictatorship. We will keep it up!” the Cyber Partisans commented.

It should be recalled that in June 2025, Cyber Partisans and Silent Crow carried out an attack on Russian airline Aeroflot, which resulted in the compromise and destruction of the company’s internal IT infrastructure. Aeroflot was forced to cancel some flights. Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case under an article concerning unauthorized access to computer information.
