Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, together with the CSTO Joint Staff and Secretariat, discussed the plans for the CSTO exercises Interaction-2026, Search-2026 and Echelon-2026. The staff planning conferences were held in Russia.
The participants approved the exercise plans, which are aligned with the objectives of the Russian Armed Forces’ Tsentr-2026 strategic command-and-staff exercise. They also discussed issues related to command arrangements, the composition of participating command bodies and national contingent units, the conduct of practical training activities, and comprehensive logistical support, the Belarusian Defence Ministry reported.
The participants also conducted a reconnaissance of the areas where the exercises are scheduled to take place in September and October this year at the Chebarkul training ground in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region.
