Exercises under the auspices of the CSTO will take place in Belarus on Oct. 11-16. Peacekeeping forces will train at the Losvido training ground in the Vitebsk region, CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff Andrei Siardzyukou said.
“In mid-October, the command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood – 2026” involving CSTO peacekeeping forces will take place at the Losvido training ground in Belarus. To comprehensively practice peacekeeping tasks, units of combat and transport aviation, engineering troops, crews of unmanned aerial systems, a special-purpose medical unit, a unit of the “Vityaz” emergency firefighting and rescue detachment of the Emergencies Ministry, as well as units of the internal troops and OMON of the Belarusian Interior Ministry will also be involved”, he said.
The second CSTO exercise, “Barrier-2026,” will take place at the Starodorozhsky training ground. The CSTO’s joint NBC protection and medical support formation will practice tasks related to eliminating biological threats in the area of responsibility of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces, as well as issues related to the participation of the joint formation in collective response measures in the event of the large-scale and rapid spread of dangerous infectious diseases.
