Council of Europe Website Designated as “Extremist” in Belarus

The website of the Council of Europe has been designated as “extremist materials” in Belarus.

A ruling by the Partizanski District Court of Minsk on 5 December identifies the website of the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations, CINGO) as “extremist”, but the Information Ministry’s extremist list specifies the address of the Council of Europe’s website — www.coe.int.

Also added to the list of “extremist materials” were:

  • YouTube videos titled “It Was Not Me, We Are for Peace! Alyaksandr Lukashenka at the UN Created an Uproar. Even Vladimir Putin Was Shocked”, “Lukashenka Wants to Regain Legitimacy”, “Agent VALET. Who Is Lukashenka? Hryhoriy Omelchenko”, “Paval Latushka. Lukashenka’s Son Has Disappeared!? The Dictator’s Family Is Preparing to Flee the Country”;
  • the website and Instagram, X and Facebook pages of the organisation “ForumCiv”;
  • TikTok accounts “kalino.polkas”, “mavic_pro4”, “grodno_brest_belarus”, “novaya_belarus”;
  • the Telegram channel “Belarusy z Ukrainay”;
  • Instagram accounts “petr_zyl”, “andreikudzik”, “belarusian_truestory”;
  • music videos by the band Dymna Lotva on YouTube;
  • the website “Kirma.sh: Belarusian Books Delivered Worldwide”;
  • Facebook pages “BChD. Party Belarusian Christian Democracy”, “Helen Minskaya”, “Andrej Radaman”, “Belarusian Popular Front”, “Social Christian Movement”, “Pray for Belarus”, “Solidarity Movement ‘Razam’”;
  • and the website mogilev.media.
