A Belarusian delegation formed from members of the Coordination Council is taking part in the latest session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which began today in Strasbourg and will continue until April 24, the Coordination Council reported.
The delegation includes Pavel Latushka, Margaryta Vorykhava, Alyaksandra Mamaeva, Valery Matskevich, Pavel Tserashkovich, Ryta Hatsikh and Kseniya Lutskina.
The Belarusian delegation is participating in the work of PACE for the sixth time, which indicates the formation of stable institutional interaction with the Parliamentary Assembly, delegation head Mamaeva noted.
During briefings in political groups, each delegate has the opportunity to present their area of work in detail. Matskevich traditionally presents issues related to the European integration of Belarus and Belarusians. Among the practical issues requiring resolution are visas for Belarusian citizens.
Mamaeva also focuses on migration issues, while delegation secretary Lutskina addresses the protection of the interests of political prisoners, both those who remain in detention and those who have already been released.
