Construction Companies Granted Right to Open Special Accounts Until End of 2027

On January 5, Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree extending the validity of the decree on opening special accounts for construction companies through December 31, 2027.

The document updates the list of construction companies entitled to open special accounts.

The original decree was signed in March 2019. It allowed companies in the construction sector that were in a difficult financial situation to open special accounts for holding designated and current advance payments transferred by companies for work performed as general contractors and subcontractors, for the purchase of materials, and for other purposes. To ensure the effective use of such advances, restrictions were introduced on the enforcement of claims against funds held in these accounts.

“The decree is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of construction companies, including at strategically important and significant facilities, the timely payment of wages, and the fulfillment of obligations to the budget and the Social Protection Fund,” Lukashenka’s press service reported.
