Companies and Sole Proprietors With Wage Arrears Barred From Registering New Businesses

Belarus is changing its procedures for the state registration and liquidation of business entities. The relevant law was signed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The law establishes a procedure for the state registration of legal entities operating under a standard charter. It also eliminates the requirement for legal entities to obtain a certificate of state registration.

The legislation restricts the registration of new business entities by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs that have outstanding wage payments or unpaid remuneration obligations.

In cases where the reorganization of a legal entity is declared invalid and the entity is restored to its previous status, the institution of external administration will be introduced.

The law also amends six codes and 23 laws to align them with the new legislative changes.
