A combat readiness inspection of the Armed Forces, initiated on the instruction of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, is continuing in the Air Force and Air Defense troops, BelTA reported.
“The main task for the Armed Forces this year, as defined by the commander-in-chief of our country, is maintaining the established level of combat readiness of the troops, a high level of training, and the coordination of command bodies when carrying out assigned tasks.
This is very relevant for the branch of the Armed Forces that we will be inspecting — the Air Force and Air Defense troops — because even in peacetime they perform the combat task of protecting the airspace and borders of our country. And more broadly, of the Union State and the western strategic direction within the framework of the CSTO,” said Alyaksandr Valfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council.
The inspection will involve aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops and radio-technical troops.
It should be recalled that Lukashenka launched a surprise combat readiness inspection bypassing the Defense Ministry on 16 January.
