Belarus’ Foreign Ministry said it had passed information to the Polish authorities about the alleged preparation of a terrorist attack on Polish territory.
According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the information was handed over to Poland’s Chargé d’Affaires in Belarus, Krzysztof Ożanna, during a meeting at the ministry. The Belarusian side said the information had been obtained through law enforcement channels.
“It was reported that a person currently residing in Poland, who had previously been convicted in the Republic of Belarus under a number of articles of the Criminal Code and was recently stripped by the Polish authorities of additional protection and the right to reside in the country, is preparing a terrorist act. The main targets are allegedly to be the minor children of a Belarusian citizen and activist living in Poland, as an act of revenge for what the individual considers to have been insufficient efforts to preserve the above-mentioned status in Poland,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
“The Polish representative was also informed that additional information on this matter, if necessary and as it becomes available, will be transmitted through the channels of cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries,” the ministry added.
