Cigarettes Worth $6.6 Million Seized at the Belarusian-Polish Border

Polish customs officers have seized a shipment of cigarettes with a market value of more than 25 million zlotys at the Polish-Belarusian border. It was the largest smuggling attempt detected in the Lublin Voivodeship in several years, Poland’s National Revenue Administration reported.

The illicit shipment was discovered in two containers from China at the Małaszewicze railway terminal. According to the accompanying documents, the containers were transporting advertising boards from China to the Czech Republic and Germany.

In both containers, customs officers found packages of cigarettes concealed among the declared advertising boards. More than 1.2 million packs of cigarettes were seized. Their market value is estimated at more than 25 million zlotys ($6.6 million). The video shows that at least part of the smuggled shipment consisted of Belarusian Queen Menthol cigarettes.
