The Economy Ministry has published selected results of its business survey conducted in July.
This time, the ministry’s press service did not disclose data on industrial capacity utilization. In June, the figure stood at 70%, while in May it was 67%. At the same time, the ministry noted that the average order backlog remained unchanged at 2.9 months.
According to the survey, 72% of respondents reported that production either increased or remained stable in July, while 75% (+1 percentage point compared with June) said demand had either grown or remained stable.
The ministry also said that 35% of respondents reported a decline in finished goods inventories.
Most participants in the survey indicated that employment levels remained unchanged. Eleven percent of respondents (+1 percentage point) reported an increase in the number of employees.
“In the short term, more than half of senior executives believe the current demand trend will remain unchanged, while another 35% of respondents (-2 percentage points compared with June) expect demand to increase. Forty-three percent of company executives (-7 percentage points) plan to increase production, while 19% (+2 percentage points) intend to expand their workforce,” the ministry said.
