Boris Johnson Receives Award from Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya

Adviser to the head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on diplomatic affairs Dzianis Kuchynski held a meeting in London with former UK prime minister Boris Johnson. The discussion focused on support for the democratic forces of Belarus and Ukraine, as well as the need for unity among democracies in the face of authoritarian regimes.

On behalf of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Kuchynski presented Boris Johnson with the “Team Badge of Honor”.

“A good start to the year — meeting true friends of a free Belarus and a strong Ukraine. Today in London I held a long and substantive conversation with Boris Johnson about how to support and how democracies must remain united in confronting autocrats.

Mr Johnson is a steadfast supporter of freedom in our region. In 2021, he became the first prime minister to receive the elected president of Belarus at the residence at 10 Downing Street. His bold leadership helped strengthen international recognition of Belarus’s democratic forces, and his support has never waned,” the adviser wrote on Facebook following the meeting.

“And when in 2022 Russia launched its full-scale invasion, he was among the first leaders to arrive in Kyiv to offer Ukraine his unwavering support without hesitation. On behalf of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, I was proud to present him with the ‘Team Badge of Honor’. A true ally. A true team player. A friend of freedom,” the Office representative added.
