Border guards at Minsk airport identified two cases of passengers presenting forged documents over the past week.
According to the State Border Committee, during the processing of a Dubai–Tashkent–Minsk flight, officers became suspicious of a Belarusian visa in the passport of a Bangladeshi citizen. An inspection found that all of the visa’s security features had been imitated to resemble a genuine document using an ordinary printer.
A second offender was detained during the processing of a flight from Istanbul to Minsk. He presented a passport of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in which the personal identification data had been altered.
The detainees were placed in a temporary detention facility operated by the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Main Directorate of Internal Affairs. Administrative proceedings have been launched for an attempted illegal border crossing. They could also face criminal liability.
