Belorusneft filling stations have increased fuel sales in western border areas amid rising prices in neighbouring countries. According to Neft.by, sales across the western border region as a whole increased by 20% compared with the same period last year, while at some filling stations they rose two to three times.
“Sales growth in border areas is up to 15% higher than at other sites, which is very good for Belorusneft enterprises involved in fuel sales — for us, these are additional sales. At the same time, we are certainly prepared for such an increase in demand — an additional one or two tonnes of sales per site per day can easily be supported by the established logistics for delivering petroleum products and the existing system for purchasing and supplying fuel from Belarusian refineries”, Belorusneft head of petroleum products sales Arseny Shumel said.
It should be noted that fuel prices in Belarus were also recently increased. They rose by four kopecks. Another factor behind the increase in demand may have been the return of trucks operated by Lithuanian carriers that had been held in Belarus since autumn last year.
