Sales of Belarusian car brand BelGee in Russia fell again in August, against the backdrop of record sales in its home market. Sales in Russia have now declined for the second consecutive month.
According to Avtostat agency, 4,414 BelGee vehicles were sold in August, 43.5% fewer than in the same month last year. Sales of Belarusian cars in January-August increased by 18.6% to 32,150 units. The Belarusian brand’s share of the Russian market stood at 4.51% in the first eight months, compared with 4.16% a year earlier.
The BelGee X50+ was among the 10 most popular models on the Russian market in August. More than 13,000 of these vehicles have been sold this year.
The Russian car market as a whole contracted by 6.5% in August to 113,400 vehicles. Sales in the first eight months increased by 9.3% to 845,000 units.
Lada leads the Russian market with 208,400 vehicles sold, down 1.4% compared with January-August 2025. It is followed by Haval (114,300, +22.8%), Tenet (88,700) and Geely (51,800, -1.6%).
