Belgazprombank Announces Suspension of Visa Card Operations in EU

Belgazprombank has announced that Visa cards issued by the bank will no longer be serviced within the European Union.

“By decision of the international payment system Visa, from March 19, 2026, transactions using Belgazprombank Visa cards carried out within the territory of EU countries (including in online stores registered in those countries) will not be processed,” the bank said in a statement.

According to the bank, the cards will continue to function in Belarus and in other countries outside the EU. The DragonPass airport lounge access service will also continue to operate as usual.

The bank recommends that its clients issue a Mastercard for transactions within the EU or use an existing one.

“If you have a smartphone based on the Android operating system with the DailyFin or BGPB mobile applications installed, you can issue a virtual Mastercard even while outside Belarus. By adding it to Samsung Pay or Swoo, you will be able to continue making payments via your mobile device without interruption,” the bank said.

Earlier, Alfa Bank also reported that its Visa cards had stopped working in European countries.
