Belarusian speed skater Maryna Zuyeva placed sixth in the 5,000 metres at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Italy, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus reported.
She competed in the second pair alongside Canada’s Laura Hall and recorded a time of 6:57.70. Zuyeva had initially been scheduled to start with the Netherlands’ Bente Kerkhoff, who withdrew for medical reasons. Italy’s Francesca Lollobrigida won the event with a time of 6:46.17.
At a World Cup stage in Heerenveen, the Belarusian skater finished ninth with a time of 6:53.46. Earlier at the 2026 Games, Zuyeva placed 15th in the 3,000 metres.
