Belarusian Railways and China Merchants will develop new logistics products. This was reported by the Belarusian Railways press centre following a meeting between the railway’s management and the leadership of CJSC China Merchants CHN-BLR Commercial and Logistics Company.
The parties discussed the organisation and expansion of cargo transportation by container trains from Belarus to China, as well as the supply of Chinese products to Belarus using the logistics capabilities of the Chinese group of companies. Further areas of cooperation with Chinese logistics platforms within the China Merchants group and its logistics provider Sinotrans were identified.
“The parties also agreed on joint work to develop new transport and logistics products in demand among Belarusian and Chinese shippers, on forming end-to-end logistics for container trains on the China–Europe–China route, including the coordination of technological processes for terminal handling of container trains at the Dostyk and Brest railway stations, as well as on improving interaction with the customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China,” the press centre said.
A separate item on the agenda was cooperation in the construction of a container rail terminal of CJSC Eurasian Railway Gateway on the territory of the Great Stone industrial park.
