Today, May 28, at 2:00 p.m., the official opening of the Belarusian stand “Free Belarus Salon” will take place at the International Book Fair in Warsaw. The Belarusian program will feature more than 25 events throughout the exhibition, with participants including Ales Bialiatski, Aliaksandr Fiaduta, Viktar Babaryka, Uladzimir Niakliayeu, Sabina Brylo, Uladzimir Arlou, Nasta Kudasava and other authors.
The stand is organized by the Belarusian Solidarity Centre and the Belarusian Book Institute.
The salon will begin operating at 12:00 p.m.
The following events are scheduled for today:
Tomorrow’s main events will include autograph sessions with Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatski and literary scholar Aliaksandr Fiaduta, a presentation of the bilingual book “Święte źródło” by Uladzimir Niakliayeu, and the launch of sales of the book “The Viktar Babaryka Case. Chronicle of Political Persecution in Facts and Documents” by Sabina Brylo.
The organizers note that this year the Warsaw International Book Fair, traditionally held at the Palace of Culture and Science, is changing location: the “Free Belarus” stand (11/D5) will operate at PGE Narodowy Stadium (al. Księcia Józefa Poniatowskiego 1, 03-901 Warszawa).
