Belarus’ Council of Ministers has adopted a resolution “On the Stay of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Belarus”. The document implements provisions of the updated law on fingerprint registration, which requires foreigners to provide fingerprints when entering the country.
According to the government’s press service, the resolution approves a new version of the Rules on the Stay of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Belarus.
The rules governing transit travel have also been updated.
“Mandatory state fingerprint registration for foreign citizens travelling in transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus is envisaged,” the statement said.
In addition, foreign nationals who are temporarily staying or temporarily residing in Belarus will no longer have the right to conduct one-time sales of goods at markets and/or other locations designated by local executive and administrative authorities.
