Belarusian Driver Killed in Crash Involving Three Trucks in Novosibirsk Region

A driver from Belarus was killed in Russia’s Novosibirsk Region. According to the regional civil defence and emergency response centre, the accident occurred on the R-254 highway in Chanovsky District on May 20.

“According to preliminary information, a young driver from Belarus driving a Scania crossed into the oncoming lane, lost control and collided with a KamAZ truck. As a result of the head-on collision, the Scania driver became trapped inside the mangled cab,” the statement said.

Rescue workers recovered the victim’s body from the cab.

According to traffic police, the preliminary assumption is that the man fell asleep at the wheel.
