A Belarusian citizen has been detained in Russia for transporting cargo without the required documents. He may be banned from entering Russia.
On March 14, officers from Russia’s agricultural watchdog detained a vehicle at the Krasnaya Gorka veterinary control point in Russia’s Smolensk Region. The driver, a Belarusian citizen, was transporting 2 tonnes of Serbian animal feed from Belarus but was unable to provide veterinary and shipping documents for the cargo. He was also unable to explain who the sender and recipient of the feed were.
The cargo was returned to Belarus and the driver was held administratively liable.
The same driver had already been detained on March 27 for attempting to bring 2.7 tonnes of Serbian feed into Russia without documents. Since he had repeatedly violated Russian law, Rosselkhoznadzor asked the FSB border service to ban the Belarusian citizen from entering Russia.
