A Belarusian dairy plant may appear in Russia’s Kirov Region. This was stated by the region’s governor Alexander Sokolov during a meeting with Brest Regional Executive Committee Chairman Piotr Parkhomchyk.
“There is a targeted interest, which is why we came to the Brest Region right after meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus. Our region produces a large volume of milk (we rank fifth in Russia), but we lack sufficient processing capacity. In Russia, the Brest-based company Savushkin Product is held in high regard. Butter, cheese, yogurts and curd products have established themselves as goods of the highest quality. I discussed this with Alyaksandr Lukashenka, and he supported the idea. I hope that a Belarusian enterprise will appear in the Kirov Region,” Sokolov was quoted as saying by BelTA.
According to him, the region is ready to provide a site with all utilities for a Belarusian enterprise and guarantee milk supplies. The products are planned to be sold in Russia’s Volga Federal District, the Urals and Siberia.
