Officers of the Mahiliou Customs Office prevented the export of 40 tonnes of pears to Russia without the required documentation.
Two trucks carrying the fruit were stopped in Mahiliou Region. The drivers did not have shipping documents or phytosanitary certificates. The value of the pears is estimated at more than 273,000 Belarusian rubles, the State Customs Committee reported.
Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the individual entrepreneur who owns both the goods and the vehicles. The entrepreneur faces a fine of up to 50% of the value of the shipment.
