Belarusian Anna Karaliova Finishes 34th in Olympic Skiathlon

Belarusian cross-country skier Anna Karaliova finished 34th in the skiathlon at the Winter Olympic Games in Italy, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus reported.

The race took place on the course in Tesero. Karaliova completed 10 km in the classical style and 10 km freestyle, finishing six minutes behind the winner, a representative of Sweden. A total of 70 athletes took part in the race.

The gold medal was won by Frida Karlsson of Sweden, with her compatriot Ebba Andersson taking silver. The bronze medal went to Norwegian skier Heidi Weng.

Karaliova’s next start will be on February 10, when she will compete in the sprint race.

The Belarusian team at the Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics includes Maryia Shkanava (alpine skiing), Maryna Zuyeva (speed skating), Anna Karaliova (cross-country skiing), Viktoryia Safonava (figure skating), as well as freestyle skiers Anna Huskova, Anna Deruha, and Anastasiya Andryyanava.

The 25th Winter Olympic Games will conclude on February 22.
