Belarus will change the procedures governing organizations operating in the energy efficiency sector. Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn signed the relevant resolution.
The document provides for fewer approval procedures and simplified requirements for organizations in the sector. The changes are described as “a key stage in implementing the state strategy to reduce bureaucracy and create favorable conditions for the development of the real sector of the economy.”
In particular, the rules for setting standards for fuel and energy resources have been revised, the procedure for conducting energy inspections, or energy audits, has been changed, and the regulatory regime has been simplified for organizations recognized as industry leaders.
According to the resolution, the measures will clearly delineate the powers of the Department for Energy Efficiency and its territorial bodies, while establishing uniform standards for small consumers with the possibility of an individual approach where necessary.
The authorities also expect to improve access to energy audits by removing excessive requirements and extend the planning period for energy efficiency measures, the government press service reports.
