Belarus and Azerbaijan plan to begin joint construction of an agricultural town in Karabakh in 2027, with design work currently underway. Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dzmitry Pinevich, who is part of a delegation of the foreign diplomatic corps visiting the Karabakh region, said this, Report writes.

According to the diplomat, the project includes not only an agricultural town but also several agro-industrial complexes.

“We will complete the design of the agricultural town together with several agro-industrial complexes in 2027. And if everything goes well, we plan to begin joint construction there in 2027,” he said.

In addition, a joint elevator manufacturing facility involving Belarusian company Vertus is planned to be established in Aghdam in 2027.

The idea of creating an agricultural town in Karabakh based on Belarusian experience was announced in October 2024. At the time, Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Halouchanka said that Azerbaijan planned to build an agricultural town for 420 families.
