Belarus Launches Large-Scale Construction of Trout Farms

Belarus has launched a campaign to build trout farms across the country. According to Ihar Darafeichyk, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, all regions are already “selecting land plots that will be most suitable for the construction of such facilities,” Mir reported.

In April this year, Aliaksandr Lukashenka visited the Paluzh fish farm in the Krasnapolle District, where he was shown a trout farming operation.

“We need to supply the market with fish. Especially since we have the opportunity. Make a note that Shuleika and Isachanka should build ten such complexes. We need to continue replicating them,” he said at the time.
